Asalaama Alaikum,
On behalf of the Chairman of Somaliland Diaspora Agency, Mr. Abdi Abdullahi Hersi, I would like to share and officially submit this important message to all Somaliland Diaspora communities committees, activists, lobbyists, and ambassadors of Somaliland as well.
As you all aware Somalia Federal Government and Its Parliament protested against the Somaliland’s historic agreement on mega economic investment project with DP World and the bilateral relationship with UAE. They expressed their aggressions against the self-determination and development of Somalilanders.
Therefore, we Somalilanders wherever we live, we must stand against this kind of aggression and atrocity, and support the legitimacy and the right we have to determine our future, struggle to reduce the high poverty levels, as well as the high unemployment rates, make economic growth, and infrastructure development. The President of Somaliland explained Somalia’s attempts as a declare of war against Somaliland.
Let us not forget what Somaliland has single-handedly and with very little external aid accomplished over the years, it is deeply impressive while Somalia has remained mired in chaos and bloodshed despite every vast assistance and foreign aid provided to them by the international community. The Republic of Somaliland has built a strong peaceful foundation of democratic government grounded and vital for human rights more than decades.
The Somaliland Diaspora Agency at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of the Republic of Somaliland is kindly informing and advising the esteemed Somaliland Diaspora committees and the Somalilanders in the Diaspora in general to patriotically react against this aggression by conducting protests, writing petitions to constituency MPs, all the influential Somaliland friends, making more media exposure through the local media groups such as local newspapers, radios, TVs, and also social media pages, engaging international communities as well.
