Why does Somalia need a defence pact with NATO ally Türkiye?

Somalia’s parliament has ratified a defense and economic pact with Turkiye. Somalian President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said the agreement means Turkiye will protect Somali territorial waters for the next 10 years. Murat Aslan from Hasan Kalyoncu University explains.
